Terms and Conditions

Unified Protective Group Terms and conditions.

1. This proposal will remain valid for a period of 14 days, if this is attached to a quotation.

2. All pricing is exclusive of GST.

3. Acceptance of our offer to supply goods and or services is strictly by written purchase order ( email accepted ) and or completion and return of the attached Client Acceptance Form.

4. Any required deposit/s must be received and cleared before commencement of work as stipulated in the Acceptance Form.

5. Full or balance of payment is required at the time the system installation is completed.

6. Ownership of any goods will not pass to the client until full and final payment is received.

7. We reserve the right to remove goods or programs if not paid for by the client.

8. If the performance or observance of any obligations of Unified Protective Group Pty Ltd is prevented, restricted or affected by reason of a force majeure event including strike, lock out, industrial dispute, raw material shortage, breakdown of plant, transport or equipment or any other cause beyond the reasonable control of the Unified Protective Group Pty Ltd , Unified Protective Group Pty Ltd  may, in its absolute discretion give prompt notice of that cause to the client. On delivery of that notice the Unified Protective Group Pty Ltd is excused from such performance or observance to the extent of the relevant prevention, restriction or effect.

9. Site allowances have not been included within this quotation. Should site allowances apply our final price will be varied by this amount.

10. Every effort has been taken to familiarise ourselves with your site including installation issues presented necessitating the completion of this quotation. Any unforeseen additional costs to complete specified works will be quoted separately.

11. Site amenities will be required for the duration of the installation.

12. All plans, equipment specifications, etc. will be made available on request.

13. Unless otherwise agreed scheduling and time frames implementation to completion of works will be subject to Unified Protective Group Pty Ltd regular scheduling requirements.

14. Payment to Unified Protective Group Pty Ltd for goods and services delivered and accepted is due within 14 calendar days from invoice date. If the client fails to make payment in accordance with this clause, all amounts owing by the client to Unified Protective Group Pty Ltd shall immediately become due and payable. Each outstanding amount shall bear interest of the rate of 10% per annum calculated on a daily basis from the day it falls due until the day it is paid.

15. To the extent permitted by law, Unified Protective Group Pty Ltd shall not be liable in any way to the client, its servants or agents for consequential, secondary, indirect, special or abnormal loss or damage (including lost profits and economic loss) connected with any supply of equipment or services by the Unified Protective Group Pty Ltd  to the client or any dealings between Unified Protective Group Pty Ltd and the client, and the client indemnifies Unified Protective Group Pty Ltd  against claims, suits or actions by third parties relating to such loss or damage.

16. Any required 240 VAC GPO supply required to complete the installation are to be provided by others during installation process. Permanent 240 VAC GPO supply is required for the operation of installed equipment.

17. We understand that the site of installation is or may be a building / construction site and that we may be required to complete this installation over a number of stages.

18. Asbestos. Unified Protective Group Pty Ltd OHS+E standards coupled with legislative requirements do not allow installation into or the disturbance of locations containing Asbestos until such time as the areas have been cleared of any asbestos materials by suitably qualified personnel.

19. Client must be available at the initial site meeting or security briefing to confirm works/service process with Unified Protective Group Pty Ltd staff and confirm the location/positioning of equipment and or staff.

20. Client must be contactable during the installation period should the need arise for our staff to ask questions or confirm changes if required.

21. All monitoring, service & maintenance agreement invoices are payable quarterly in advance.

22. All installation and service work will be performed during normal business hours with work required outside these hours to incur additional charges.

23. Access to site for works duration is required for Unified Protective Group Pty Ltd vehicles and equipment.

24. Constant Services Connection - If alarm monitoring services utilise a standard PSTN line and the service is disrupted/cut/cancelled the alarm may still sound however, the monitoring central station may not receive any event notification from the alarm panel. Unified Protective Group Pty Ltd accepts no responsibility for connection or control of third party services to alarm monitoring.

25. GPRS Monitoring – where fitted shall be of a “dual path” standard combining Single Channel GPRS and PSTN backup or Dual GPRS if no PSTN backup.

26. All associated telephone line, GSM SIM card and call costs to be borne by the Client. Phone line connections must be in Mode 3 (security) configurations. Unified Protective Group Pty Ltd recommend against prepaid SIM cards for use in intruder alarm applications as they may expire without knowledge.

27. Monitoring and service and maintenance fees are subject to rise and fall according to CPI and industry changes.

28. If you are considering putting ADSL or equivalent on the same line as your alarm panel, please advise us as we may need to adjust your system accordingly. ADSL filters must be in place.

29. Video Verification of Alarms – where installed is an effective solution to help identify the cause of an alarm however, alarm monitoring signals will still be actioned if no Video Verification is available.

30. The Workplace Video Surveillance Act 2005No 47 (NSW) requires that all staff are notified 14 days prior to installation of camera systems in the workplace where installations are completed in NSW. It shall be the client’s responsibility in ensuring compliance to all applicable state/territory legislative requirements.

31. Some security systems supplied and installed by Unified Protective Group Pty Ltd Australia have the ability to be remotely programmed. Any system where remote access capability is installed shall be duly authorised by the respective client. Charges associated with remote access to systems for remote services may apply.

32. The Client is to provide IP addresses for all network equipment, and the presence of their IT provider.

33. For client equipment that is connected to a network or is otherwise non-standard an additional charge may apply in order to successfully connect and integrate.

34. Unless otherwise specified Unified Protective Group Pty Ltd recommends the client provision a standard operating system of Microsoft Windows XP Professional installed on a current model computer to predetermined specification to ensure maximum compatibility.

35. Unified Protective Group Pty Ltd assume no responsibility for correct operation of controlling software/systems on PC/hardware compatibility if supplied by others and/or not supplied as part of quoted works.

36. We recommend that a security system be client tested on a monthly basis and a full system test be carried out by Unified Protective Group Pty Ltd on an annual / 6 monthly basis.

37. All 240v AC power points and phone lines are to be supplied by the client unless specifically requested and included in the quotation.

38. If during the pre-wire stage of any project our cables or equipment are damaged, tampered with or ‘built in’ by other tradespeople or persons working on site there may be additional cost associated with replacement, repair or retrieval of the that equipment will be charged to the client.

39. Asbestos free area – certificates must be presented for any site where asbestos is/has been suspected.

40. Unless specifically stated, no allowance has been made, where required, for chasing cables, cutting concrete or bitumen and making good which could incur additional charges which, if necessary, will be charged to the client.

41. No allowance has been made for running lift cables or works to lifts if required. Client lift maintenance contractor must complete this work and provide all lift cables, contacts & connections.

42. Unless specifically stated, this price does not allow for location of underground services. This can be provided at an additional charge. The price to locate these services does not allow for changes or alterations to the design based on the location of underground services; this will incur additional costs.

43. If excessive rock is found during the excavation of site for works in this quotation, additional charges will be incurred e.g. if a rock breaker or similar equipment is required.

44. Exclusions to all quotes are: site cost & site allowances if applicable as well as lifting scaffolding, cherry pickers, elevated work platforms, conduits in slabs, concrete slabs, penetrations and core holes, 240v GPO power points, telephone sockets, and boom gates. Unless otherwise stated, these items will incur additional charges for supply.
